Designer’s Story

No. 16 chair design inspiration was taken from automotive styling using chiseled or cut bodystyling as well as angular trends in architecture. “chiseled and cut, yet refined and sculpted”. The design has an angular, modern aesthetic and is an intentional departure from current HNI styling with the thin, flat back frame and angular theme throughout all components. We wanted No. 16 chair to be customizable so the customer can have color options for the frame, mesh, and upholstery. We wanted reduced clutter and complexity, making it easy for the customer to understand and use.”
